More people than ever in Scotland will be offered the free flu vaccine to help protect as many lives as possible this winter.
The flu vaccination programme will commence from September. All those who are eligible are being urged to take up the offer as soon as possible to protect themselves and others and help the NHS and social care services avoid additional pressure over the winter period. Visit the eligible groups page for more information on how and when you will get your flu vaccine.
Flu Vaccination Clinics
This website will provide you with local information on why it is important to get the free flu vaccination, who is eligible and how to get the flu vaccination.
What’s the latest?
There are no walk in appointments for these vaccinations, they are by appointment only. This is because the timing of this is a key factor in planning the appointment; 24 weeks must have passed since your 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
Why these changes?
In 2017, the Scottish Government and the Scottish General Practitioners Committee (SGPC) agreed vaccinations would move away from a model based on GP delivery to one based on NHS Board delivery through dedicated teams.
